Planned Parenthood–Guilt of a Nation and Hope for Some

A few days ago, a fourth video was released by the Center for Medical Progress, exposing Planned Parenthood doctors and management for collecting and selling body parts of babies murdered in abortions. That video shows technicians sorting the parts in a large glass dish. “There’s a leg,” “there’s an arm…” The sorting is performed in a laboratory–clean, cheerful, bright–horrendous! It isn’t like there is blood and gore all over the place, yet the horror of it and the callousness of those involved is absolutely repulsive. I couldn’t watch the whole thing.

Let’s not forget that Planned Parenthood is supported by our governmental leaders, those we have voted to represent us.

While “harvesting” and selling body parts of murdered people is calloused, calculated, and mercenary, it is not the worst. The worst is the murder in the first place. But consider, those who sort and process have the evidence placed right before their eyes, and still they continue! Now we have had the evidence placed irrefutably before our eyes. What will we do?

The word “abortion” is now so commonplace in our culture that we may have become dulled to the implications. A deliberate abortion is not merely a surgical procedure. It kills a human being. It unjustly kills an innocent person. It reaches into what should be the safest place for the most helpless among us, and literally rips that person into shreds. This nation is guilty for millions of murders committed under the guise of “family planning” and a woman’s “right to choose.” And with the release of these videos, if America still does nothing to stop it–what an indictment!

For more on the issue, see Planned Parenthood and evil, where Jesse Johnson reminds us that Planned Parenthood was founded for the purpose of reducing the black population and continues today to be a eugenic tool against African Americans. In Dear Planned Parenthood Supporter, You Are the Dentist!, Jordan Standridge relates our hypocrisy. Americans are more concerned for Cecil the Lion than for innocent babies.  Truly,

Just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice…” (Romans 1:28-29ff).

Sin also victimizes those who commit the sins. Women who choose to abort their babies may have been deceived. Someone may have pressured them into it. Or, perhaps they felt trapped and, even knowing the truth, they chose to have the abortion anyway. Whatever the case, there may be some who are now overwhelmed with guilt. Guilt for sin is right, but  it does not have to be permanent. In Jesus Christ there is hope. Please read Hope in the Wake of Planned Parenthood. In a very gracious, gentle way, Jordan explains how you can receive forgiveness and new life in Jesus Christ through repentance.

Maybe there are some who are complicit in the murders by having pressured a woman to have the abortion, or participating as a nurse or receptionist or in some other capacity. Again, read the post above. Because Jesus died to pay for sins, and God raised Him up again, there is hope of forgiveness. “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
